This hilly stretch becomes a mountainous paradise for seasonal travel where you can truly make the most of spending time outdoors.

I drove this 11-mile stretch in my SUV and had a blast, though I do NOT recommend trailers or RVs drive this road as precision is essential on these passages through canyon and forest. The main event is conquering each curve with only a few pull-offs at scenic overlooks where you can stopped to catch your breath and watch flashy cars and motorcycles race by at impressive speed through the gap. It’s not just motorcycles and not just sports cars that enjoy this thrill—any confident driver will love how the challenge unfolds while offering glimpses through the overlooks, and you should Navigate carefully to makes it even greater.

  Synchronous fireflies in the Elkmont area stage a truly a spectacle as this rare species of fireflies flash synchronously during their mating display for about 2–3 weeks every year in late May to early June, creating nature’s own natural light show.
