As a Nashville tour guide, I thought I knew this Tennessee city inside out. But when three friends flew in for a girls weekend, everything felt different—more spontaneous, more fun, pure blast. Nashville has grown beyond its country music roots and reinvented itself into one of the hottest destinations for weekend getaway trips. Mural-filled streets, chic brunch spots, boutique shopping, a nightlife scene that stretches past midnight, and music everywhere—we did it all. This is the best girls weekend in Nashville you can plan. Here’s our perfect itinerary proving why this is the ultimate top destination to celebrate with your gals, whether you’re planning bachelorette parties or birthday celebrations.
The Best Girls Weekend in Nashville
Day 1 – Where Nashville Stole Our Hearts
Wake up at 8:00am—Sarah wanted to go for a run in the Belmont area behind our Airbnb while the rest of us got ready to eat breakfast and plan the day. I always end up recommending 12South to tour groups, but with my girls here for a girls’ weekend, we could actually slow down. This neighborhood radiates a cozy yet trendy atmosphere that invites you to spend an entire day wandering around, discovering charming local finds that capture the area’s unique feel.Since anyone heading to 12South for a weekend knows the brunch options are endless, we knew we had to plan our meal breaks carefully to hit the best places.
We kicked off our morning by heading to Five Daughter’s Bakery (1110 Caruthers Ave., TN 37204) to grab some delicious treats for a late breakfast. Their famous 100-layer donut, which requires three days to prepare, was absolutely incredible, and the sugar cookies left us speechless—Sarah couldn’t stop talking about how amazing they were throughout our entire adventure. Both the vanilla cream and chocolate brownie donut quickly became instant favorites among our group. We had a blast splitting dishes with our friends, essentially creating our own flight of pastries as we sampled everything on offer. While you can find biscuits with various gravies and spreads at nearby restaurants, this unique bakery-restaurant hybrid has made their biscuit flights incredibly popular—it’s such a fun way to experience all the different flavors without committing to just one choice.
While some of the girls grabbed coffee across the street at Frothy Monkey (2509 12th Ave. South, TN 37204), I showed them the mural most tourists miss. This cozy bungalow has welcomed guests since 2004 and is recognized as a Nashville staple for best coffee. Maya needed her caffeine boost from Barista Parlor, but we actually chose Frothy Monkey for today—both are Nashville staples with that industrial-chic space vibe and carefully crafted drinks without being pretentious. It feels like part of the experience we love about Nashville—it isn’t a one-note city. The neighborhoods throughout this area transition from loud spots and legendary spots to more laid-back atmospheres with local vibes, offering visitors the full Music City experience. We made our way to Amelia’s Flower Truck 12Sout, which was stationed directly in front of Imogene + Willie. Maya absolutely lost it taking photos at this location—literally every two blocks is completely Instagram worthy. This place has blown up across Pinterest thanks to its beachy interiors, stunning flower walls, and that iconic Rosé All Day sign that’s made it incredibly popular with girl squads. Sure, it’s a top pick that might seem a bit over the top, but let’s be real—that’s part of the fun on any girls’ trip. Just steps away, we found the I Believe in Nashville mural positioned next to Draper James—another essential spot that deserves a place on your camera roll.
We found ourselves lingering far longer than we initially anticipated because shopping in this area just feels completely different. The adorable little street known as 12 South is brimming with charming boutiques and vibrant outdoor markets—we walked around and ducked into practically every one of the stores we stumbled upon. Stoney Clover Lane (2707 12th Ave S, TN 37204) and Finnley’s (2516 12th Ave S, TN 37204) were absolute must-visits, and the Draper James shop was stunning, featuring an incredible variety of clothing and accessories across different stores. A few spots near 12South that we unfortunately missed but received rave reviews include White’s Mercantile (2908 12th Ave S, TN), Savant Vintage (2302 12th Ave S, TN), and Serendipity (2301 12th Ave S, TN). We essentially hit spot after spot, exploring what seemed like the entire street filled with shopping gems.
After all that, we stopped for ice cream at Jeni’s. I tried the gooey butter cake while Jess got brambleberry crisp—the brambleberry flavor was tremendous.
By afternoon, we headed to Germantown and stumbled upon the cutest boutique, Abednego (1212 4th Ave N, TN 37208). We absolutely would have explored more restaurants throughout the neighborhood and made a stop at the Farmer’s Market (900 R). Instead, we ended up at Pinewood Social (33 Peabody St, TN 37210), and I highly recommend securing reservations weeks ahead of your planned visit. I personally booked mine roughly a month in advance for our Saturday visit, and looking back, I’m really happy I did—this place fills up fast. This cute spot lets you eat, bowl, or enjoy the outside activities—we ended up just chilling on the patio with our food and drinks as a late lunch. Jess ordered the eggs benedict among seven different dishes we shared them all. We got right in without a wait of 3.5 to 4 hours like some peak times at other spots, and it ended up being tremendous.
Now here’s where I need to mention brunch—if you’re coming for a proper boozy brunch, Germantown Cafe (1200 5th Ave N, TN 37208) keeps things simple with big windows, downtown views, and solid brunch staples that don’t feel like an afterthought. They’re known for brunch with the best mimosas, perfect for a group wanting mimosas or Bloody Marys that works with any vibe.I have to mention The Buttermilk Ranch—we walked past this bakery-restaurant hybrid that’s become incredibly famous for their biscuit flights. They serve biscuits with a variety of gravies and spreads on top, which seemed perfect for splitting among friends and sampling all the options. We skipped it since we were completely full from our Day 1 feasting, but it’s absolutely worth knowing about if you’re still hungry.
Following all that activity, we made our way back to our Airbnb to rest for a while. We changed outfits to freshen up, then chose to fit in some additional shopping around Hillsboro Village (1704 21st Avenue South, TN 37212) before our dinner reservation that evening.
We hit up my favorite boutiques, Dress Up (1704 21st Ave S, TN 37212), then hunted down murals—the Drippy Lips Wall (1814 21st Avenue South) and Molly Green mural across the street were perfect for photos.
At last, we arrived at Hampton Social to enjoy the 1st day special dinner. I always recommend this spot for girls’ trips because the coastal-inspired rooftop evokes the feeling of seaside socializing. Jess and I chilled on the rooftop with cocktails and the vibe while Sarah and Maya went scooter riding through downtown to scout Broadway—they said that was the highlight with music spilling out of every honky tonk. The atmosphere here is laid-back yet energetic, giving you that full Music City experience even if you’re not on the loud, legendary Broadway. The pizza was phenomenal. Reservations are a must, especially for rooftop seating.
If the girls had been 21, we would’ve ended up heading to Broadway for live music after dinner, but we saved that adventure for Day 2. Drive back to the Airbnb feeling like we’d conquered Day 1—Hearts full, feet tired, and already planning tomorrow.
Day 2 – Music, Murals, and Making Memories
We skipped breakfast and went directly to White Limozeen at The Graduate Hotel around 10:30am—timing is crucial here because this rooftop brunch destination opens at 10am on weekends but doesn’t start service until 3pm during the week. The pink decor and skyline views are pure magic. We grabbed coffee in the lobby downstairs and took endless pictures. Maya said this spot alone was worth the trip.
After soaking in the Instagram worthy rooftop scene, we headed downtown to Broadway for country music. We parked at Hard Rock Cafe for the day and walked everywhere from there—saved us from having to parallel park constantly.Honky Tonk Central became our favorite venue—it has three stories with live music playing on all three levels, and each floor offers its own performance space. We spent hours here, ordered the famous chili cheese foot longs, and the performers on every floor were incredible. The vibe was exactly what we’d imagined Nashville would be. We also checked out Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa Cantina and Acme Feed & Seed, which has an amazing rooftop with views of the city. We couldn’t get into Tootsie’s since the girls weren’t 21 years old, but we could hear the music spilling out—it’s definitely a packed hot spot.
Between Broadway and our next stop, I had to show them Printers Alley—this historic spot is a cozy street that used to be home to the printing and publishing industry. Now it’s filled with speakeasy bars like The Patterson House and Attaboy, plus all those neon signs perfect for pictures under the city lights. Most tourists walk right past this hidden alley, but it’s one of my Gfavorite spots as a tour guide.
After 6-8 hours of music, we headed to The Gulch—an upscale neighborhood with chic boutiques, cocktail bars, and some of the most photographed murals in Nashville. This area has that see and be seen vibe perfect for a girls’ brunch-and-shopping day. We visited Jessie James Decker’s boutique, Kittenish, where the girls loved the flower wall inside and bought cute key chains on sale. Then we hit Uncommon James where Sarah found goodies also on sale. The Wings mural is everywhere on social media, and now we understood why—it’s stunning. The whole Gulch area blends Southern charm with modern style, making it feel both classic and trendy.
We returned to our Airbnb to change outfits before heading out for dinner. Our late pre birthday dinner was at Liberty Common (207 1st Ave S), and dinner reservations are absolutely essential here. Jess ordered the filet, and we spent nearly 3 hours enjoying our meal and drinks in this beautiful restaurant. The whole day felt like the complete Nashville experience—from honky tonk energy to hidden alley gems to Gulch murals, all with perfect Southern charm.
Day 3 – Our Final Day (And My Birthday Surprise!)
We packed up and headed to Cafe Roze in (1115 Porter Rd, TN 37206) for brunch around 10 am. This is my favorite spot in the city—the ham toast is insanely delicious, and watching Sarah, Maya, and Jess try it for the first time was so fun. They also got the waffles with berries and breakfast sandwiches. I went with a mocktail since we had a long day ahead. Reservations are essential—book 3 weeks ahead for weekends or you’ll wait over 20 minutes. We spent about 2 hours here just talking and laughing, and honestly, it felt like being at grandma’s house with that cozy vibe.
After brunch, we walked to the shopping center nearby. Whiskey Water Boutique (737 Porter Rd, TN 37206) had this artsy, eclectic charm—the girls went crazy finding customizable bags with monogram options, real leather pieces, and matching weekend pouches. They scored three pairs of accessories on a buy one get two free deal for around $25 each. We also hit Apple & Oak and grabbed cookies from HiFi Cookies for a sweet snack. This whole area has amazing vintage shops, local art galleries, and artisan coffee houses. The energy here makes Nashville so exciting.
Next was Fifth + Broadway (5036 Broadway Place, TN 37203)—we could’ve spent the whole day here. Think mall but way cooler, with Nashville vibes and seasonal flower installations perfect for Instagram photos. It’s an indoor-outdoor complex open from 10 am to 11pm with tons of food options from quick on the go bites like chicken sliders to Czech pastry and donuts. Jess got slices of cake for later, and Maya found boots at Boot Country. The whole space has great photo spots and even live bands for line dancing at night.
We did a quick loop downtown in the afternoon. We passed Bridgestone Arena where country stars like Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan perform. The energy around Broadway Street was incredible—people dancing outside honky tonk bars, live bands playing songs, neon lights everywhere. Some spots have rooftop stages and multi-level bars open until 3 am.
boat is legendary—we spent 4 hours with amazing food, drinks, and live bands playing country songs. They brought out a cake with my name “Clara” clearly written on it, and we cut it while cruising past the city lights. The view of Nashville’s skyline at night was perfect. This unique experience celebrating with my best friends on the river was the best end to our girls’ trip weekend.
